Wudel Consulting checks every day which businesses and pages ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode name for its clients' customer questions; this answer comes from that tracking. Written by [Sam Wudel](https://wudelconsulting.com/about), founder of Wudel Consulting in Lehi, Utah, following Google's guidance on [helpful, people-first content](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/creating-helpful-content).

I'm Sam Wudel, founder of [Wudel Consulting](https://wudelconsulting.com/about) in Lehi. Our [AEO program](https://wudelconsulting.com/program) checks every day how ChatGPT and four other AI engines answer our clients' customer questions. When we asked this question across five engines on October 30, 2026, none named us; they named the firms below and others. Here is how to choose among them, and what you can do before you pay anyone.

**Quick answer:** Who can help my business show up in ChatGPT in Utah? An agency that does AEO or GEO and tracks ChatGPT's actual answers. Utah firms to compare include Got.Media, Red Olive, Utah SEO Pros, Webtek Marketing and Wudel Consulting. You can also start yourself: let OpenAI's crawler in, answer customers' questions on your site, and keep your listings consistent.

## Key takeaways

A Utah business can get help showing up in ChatGPT from agencies that do AEO or GEO (getting named in AI answers), and it can do the first steps itself. The right helper shows you what ChatGPT says about you today and how it will measure change.

- ChatGPT names businesses it can find and trust on the web: your site, your Google and review profiles, and articles that answer customers' exact questions.
- Before hiring anyone, check that your site lets OpenAI's search crawler in and that your business details match everywhere.
- Ask any agency which AI engines it checks, how often, what it costs and on what terms.
- Five Utah-connected firms compared below, alphabetically: Got.Media, Red Olive, Utah SEO Pros, Webtek Marketing and Wudel Consulting.
- Treat any guarantee of a ChatGPT placement as a warning sign.

## How Does a Business Show Up in ChatGPT?

A business shows up in ChatGPT when ChatGPT can find it on the web, understand what it does and where, and see enough agreeing sources to trust it. When ChatGPT searches the web for an answer, it reads pages it can access, so your own site, your business listings and articles that answer the exact question all count.

OpenAI documents a crawler called [OAI-SearchBot](https://platform.openai.com/docs/bots) that is used to show websites in ChatGPT's search results; if your robots.txt blocks it, your pages may not appear as sources. Google's guidance on [AI features in Search](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/ai-features) says the same basics apply to its AI Overviews: pages must be indexed and eligible to show in Search.

Beyond access, ChatGPT tends to name businesses whose pages answer the question directly. Our guide on [how to get cited by ChatGPT](https://wudelconsulting.com/insights/how-to-get-cited-by-chatgpt) covers the mechanics in detail.

## What Can You Do Yourself Before Hiring Anyone?

You can do four things this week without an agency: check that your site doesn't block AI crawlers, make your name, address, phone and services match across your site and listings, write one page that answers the question customers ask most, and ask ChatGPT that question yourself to see who it names today.

If you do these and still don't show up, or don't have time to publish answers every week, that is when help is worth paying for.

- **Check robots.txt.** Open yourdomain.com/robots.txt and make sure it doesn't disallow OAI-SearchBot or block all bots. Your web developer can confirm in five minutes.
- **Match your details everywhere.** Your Google Business Profile, Yelp, BBB, Angi and your own site should show the same business name, address, phone and services.
- **Answer one real question per page.** Pick the question customers ask most ("who installs metal roofs in Provo?") and answer it in the first paragraph of a page on your site.
- **Add structured data.** [Schema markup](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/structured-data/intro-structured-data) tells machines your business type, location and services.
- **Ask ChatGPT, then write down the answer.** Ask your customers' question and note who it names. Ask again over a few days, because answers change.

## How Do You Choose Who Helps You Show Up in ChatGPT?

Choose a firm that can show you ChatGPT's current answers for your questions, track them on a schedule, explain its monthly price and contract terms, and point to a named client whose AI visibility moved. If a firm only talks about Google rankings, it may not be measuring AI answers at all.

Source: each firm's own website, read October 30, 2026. "Not stated" means we did not find it on the pages we read; ask the firm directly.

- **Tracking:** Does it check ChatGPT and other engines for your questions, and how often? Daily checks over weeks show a trend; one screenshot doesn't.
- **Pricing and terms:** Is the monthly price published, and can you leave month to month?
- **Proof:** Is there a named case study with dates and a starting number?
- **Scope:** Do you need only AI visibility, or also ads, design and social? Full-service firms cover more.

## Which Utah Firms Can Help Your Business Show Up in ChatGPT?

The five firms below all offer some form of AI search work and serve Utah businesses. They are listed alphabetically, not ranked. Call two or three, ask each what ChatGPT says about you today, and compare their answers, prices and terms.

**Got.Media**

[Got.Media](https://got.media/) sells SEO, local SEO, technical SEO and a GEO + AI service. Its site gives a Utah (435) phone number but no street address. Its [GEO and AI SEO page](https://got.media/services/geo-ai-seo/) names Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Bing Copilot and ChatGPT, says it tracks answer-engine coverage and citation rate, and publishes plans: GEO Starter at $1,000 a month, SEO Core at $2,500 and SEO Growth at $5,000. Its homepage promises "no contracts". Best for a business that wants a published price for a small first step.

**Red Olive**

[Red Olive](https://www.redolive.com/) is a web design and digital marketing firm with offices in Lehi and New York; its site says it was founded in 1999. Its [GEO page](https://www.redolive.com/geo-generative-engine-optimization/) describes a visibility audit across AI platforms, authority content and reports on where you appear in AI responses, and names Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Gemini. It cites results for an unnamed healthcare client without a time frame. No pricing is published. Best for a business that also wants a new website and broader marketing.

**Utah SEO Pros**

[Utah SEO Pros](https://utahseopros.com/) is a Salt Lake City agency that says it has been in business since 2012. Its [generative engine optimization page](https://utahseopros.com/generative-engine-optimization/) names ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, covers structured data and AI-oriented content, and says it tracks an "answer share" rate. It states GEO engagements usually start around $500 to $5,000 a month, and its homepage says no long-term contracts. Its case studies are listed without figures on the pages we read. Best for a business that wants GEO alongside ads, email and social from one shop.

**Webtek Marketing**

[Webtek Marketing](https://www.webtekmarketing.com/) has offices in downtown Salt Lake City and Austin, Texas. It sells AI and LLM visibility, labeled answer engine optimization, and names AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Perplexity. It also offers SEO, content strategy, paid search and social, CRO and analytics, and says its reporting tracks visibility and citations. It lists healthcare, SaaS, ecommerce, enterprise and cybersecurity as its industries. No pricing is published. Best for mid-size and enterprise companies.

**Wudel Consulting**

Wudel Consulting is our firm, in Lehi. The AEO program is $1,500 a month, month to month ([pricing](https://wudelconsulting.com/program#pricing)). Each client's customer questions are checked daily on ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, and we publish three answer-first articles a week on the client's site. Our named case study is [Olympus Roofing](https://wudelconsulting.com/work/olympus-roofing), a Salt Lake City roofer named in 30% of 3,170 AI answers in October 2026. We focus on local service businesses and don't run paid ads or PR. Best for trades and home-service businesses that want AI visibility as the whole job.

Disclosure: I founded Wudel Consulting, one of the five firms listed. The list is alphabetical, and every firm, including ours, is described with the same kinds of facts, taken from its own website.

## How Long Does It Take to Show Up in ChatGPT?

There is no fixed timeline, and nobody can promise one, because ChatGPT decides what to name and its answers change daily. In our first client program, a Salt Lake City roofer went from 0% AI visibility in June 2026 to 29% in July 2026, the first month of articles. The details are in our [AEO case study](https://wudelconsulting.com/insights/aeo-case-study-utah-roofing-company).

How fast you move depends on your market. If competitors already publish detailed answers, it takes longer. If nobody in your trade and city does, a few good pages can change the answers quickly. ## Frequently asked questions

### Can I pay to be listed in ChatGPT's answers?

Not directly. ChatGPT's answers name businesses based on what it finds and trusts on the web, and no agency can buy a spot in them. Anyone who sells a guaranteed ChatGPT listing is selling something they don't control. What you can pay for is the work that makes your business easier to find and cite: answer-first pages, structured data, listings and tracking.

### Why doesn't ChatGPT mention my business?

Usually because it can't find enough about you, or other businesses answer the question better. Common causes: your site blocks AI crawlers, your pages don't answer the question customers ask, your business details differ across listings, or competitors have more reviews and coverage. Ask ChatGPT the question yourself and look at the sources it cites.

### Is showing up in ChatGPT different from ranking on Google?

Yes, but they're connected. Google ranks pages in a list; ChatGPT writes one answer and names a few businesses in it, sometimes with links. Many of the same things help both: an indexable site, clear answers and consistent listings. But a business can rank well on Google and still be missing from ChatGPT's answers, so check both.

### Does my Google Business Profile affect ChatGPT?

It can help indirectly. A complete, accurate profile with reviews is one of the places your business details appear on the web, and AI answers often draw on review and listing sites. Keep the name, address, phone, hours and services identical to your website so every source agrees about who you are and what you do.

### What does it cost to get help showing up in ChatGPT in Utah?

Published prices vary. Got.Media lists a GEO Starter plan at $1,000 a month, Utah SEO Pros says GEO usually runs $500 to $5,000 a month, and Wudel Consulting's AEO program is $1,500 a month, month to month. Red Olive and Webtek Marketing quote per project. Ask what each fee includes.

### How do I check if my business shows up in ChatGPT?

Ask ChatGPT the questions your customers ask, such as "best plumber in Orem", and note who it names. Repeat over several days, because answers vary. Check other engines too, like Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews. Our free AI visibility check runs this across engines for you and shows who gets named instead.

### Do I need a new website to show up in ChatGPT?

Not always. Many sites only need to stop blocking AI crawlers, add answer-first pages and structured data, and fix slow or JavaScript-only pages that crawlers struggle to read. A rebuild makes sense when the site can't be indexed reliably or can't be edited easily. Our websites page describes what an AI-readable site needs.
